| Click on the picture for a JPG photo of mud curled calcite sheet. This formation has been named "Pottery" by those that first discovered large areas of it covering floors. It is believed to have been formed as the water, containing calcium carbonate, left the mud it deposited the calcite through the mud. Then as the mud dried it cracked the calcite forming these interesting calcite/mud formations.
